Whatever brings you to our Club, our commitment is to ensure every guest enjoys a pleasant visit and creates lasting memories. To enhance your experience and comfort, we kindly request your adherence to the Club policies endorsed by the staff and members of Birmingham Country Club.


  • When You Arrive
      • We strongly encourage the use of our valet and bag drop
      • We ask that all guests change their shoes in the locker room
      • Please review and comply with the dress codes as defined below
  • Clubhouse Dress Code
    • The manner of dress shall be governed by good taste and be conservative in keeping with the character of the Club (i.e. a traditional golf and country club with a focus on family).

      Men

      Collared or mock collared shirt or turtleneck, slacks or shorts (no slacks or shorts with external thigh pockets, i.e. cargo or carpenter slacks or shorts), and appropriate denim pants. Shirts must be tucked in with a belt, unless the shirt is specifically designed and tailored to be untucked and is pressed and neat in appearance.

      Women

      Tops with collars or sleeves; slacks, dresses, skirts and shorts (finger-tip length), long or cropped (Capri) pants, and appropriate denim pants or jackets. Leggings (which are not athletic or yoga style) are permitted with a skirt or dress (finger-tip length or longer), a blazer, jacket, blouse or sweater which covers the lower hip area and dress shoes or boots. Yoga or workout pants or shorts are not permitted.

      Hats

      Hats are permitted in the Locker Rooms and at the Pool Area and 1) on the Patio and in the Grill Room for all Members, guests and children and 2) in the Maguire Room for women members and women guests. Hats must be worn in traditional forward-facing position wherever worn.

      Denim

      Denim is permitted in the Clubhouse and on the Patio, but not on the Golf Course, Practice Areas, Putting Green or Racquets Complex. Dark colored denim is preferred, but fashion colors are permitted. In all cases, denim must be without excessive wear, fading, any holes, or torn areas. Cutoffs and denim shorts are not permitted anywhere on the Club Premises (including the Pool Area).

      Prohibited Attire

      The following are not permitted at any time or place: team jerseys, tank tops, sweatshirts, sweatshirt hoodies, t-shirts (including those with graphics or logos, even if “designer” or “vintage”), mid-riff tops, halter tops, revealing clothing, beach flip flops, excessively worn or torn clothing, and short shorts, or dresses. Shorts, skirts and dresses should be no shorter than finger-tip length.

  • Golf Dress Code
    • Men

      Collared or mock collared shirts, that must remain tucked in at all times, slacks or shorts without external thigh pockets (no cargo or carpenter slacks or shorts). Jogger pants designed specifically for golf are permitted.

      Women

      Tops with collars or sleeves (no halters), golf skirts or shorts of appropriate length (past mid-thigh at finger-tip length or longer). Halter and spaghetti strap tops, yoga pants, leggings and tennis skirts are not permitted.

      Accessories
      • Hooded jackets or golf coverups are permitted, but sweatshirt hoodies are not
      • Hats or visors must be worn in the traditional forward position at all times
      • Only soft-soled golf shoes, tennis shoes or running shoes are permitted on Golf Property. Spiked shoes of any kind are prohibited
  • Pool Area Dress Code
    • All swim apparel worn at the pool must be appropriate for a family environment. Swimwear should have ample coverage. Speedos and thongs are not permitted. Shirts, cover-ups and shoes, sandals or flip flops are required when sitting or standing at the Dive Bar or at any table within the Dive Bar area, on the High Dive, and outside the Pool Area (including the parking areas). No denim cutoffs shorts in the Pool Area.

  • Racquets Dress Code
    • Appropriate athletic attire and shoes required. No running shoes or waffle soles are allowed on the clay courts. No Crocs, sandals, open toed or open backed shoes, or shoes with raised heels are allowed on the tennis or paddle courts. No denim cutoffs or shorts. Hats must be worn in a traditional forward-facing position.

  • Mobile Devices
    • Wireless devices and cell phones must be set on vibrate or silent mode. The use of wireless devices and cell phones for texting, email and other silent and non-disruptive activities is permitted anywhere on the Club Premises. Members and guests may use wireless devices and cell phones only for voice calls without speaker in the Golf Lobby, Clubhouse Locker Rooms, Pool Locker Rooms, Grille Room, Pool Area, Racquets Complex and on the Golf Course, provided that members and guests must use proper discretion to ensure that the duration and noise level of any phone conversations are kept to a minimum and do not disrupt fellow Members and guests.

      Members, family members and guests shall not use their wireless devices or cell phones in speaker mode anywhere on Club Premises for any reason, including, without limitation, for facetime calls or to play audio or video (e.g. you tube) except for playing music on the golf course as permitted under these Rules. Tablets and other hand- held gaming devices may be used by children provided they are in silent mode and such activities are conducted in a quiet and polite manner and are not disruptive to other Members and guests.
